The Ingrid 38 is a classic heavy-displacement, full-keel bluewater ketch, designed by William Atkins and based on Colin Archer's famous double-ender designs. Highly regarded for her heavy-weather capabilities, she’s stable, can hold a line in challenging sea conditions, and is a comfortable place to call home wherever you are.

This particular model was built in 1980. In 2010, the previous owner did a comprehensive upgrade and refit, including new teak interior, Yanmar 4JH4E engine, wiring and plumbing, bronze seacocks, three stainless-steel water tanks, and a watermaker. Shortly after that work was completed, however, the owner sadly passed away, after which the boat was well maintained by family and friends but lightly used.

The current owner bought her in 2022 and made a major investment to bring her into tip-top shape, including new sails, running and standing rigging, bronze chainplates, jib furler, dodger, lifelines, refrigerator, solar panels and regulator, autopilot, windvane, life raft, and much more. He also removed/reglassed the rudder and refurbished the bowsprit, watermaker, and diesel stove/heater.

She was sailed to Japan from the U.S. in 2024 and is now ready to take new owners wherever they want to go, safely and comfortably.
