This Ascom Elidra Boat Hoist has an overall lifting capacity of 550 metric tons, double the size of the largest hoist currently operating in Japan. As such, it would enable a marina or boat yard to become Japan’s leading superyacht service center, an excellent business opportunity given that more and more superyachts are visiting the country and staying longer.
The hoist was built in Italy in 2002 and put into use at Amico Loana, one of the world’s premier luxury-yacht refit and maintenance yards. It underwent a thorough inspection in 2012, at which time all the lifting wires, all the slings, and four of the tires were replaced.
In 2016, the hoist was bought by a Philippine shipyard and, in 2018, it was disassembled and shipped to the Philippines. The new owner realized, however, that the ground-bearing capacity was inadequate to handle the weight of the hoist and the boats it would be carrying, so it was never reassembled. So, although the hoist is 22 years old, it has only been used for 14 years, and it underwent comprehensive maintenance in its 10th year.
Konpira Consulting is proud to have been designated as the exclusive agent to offer and sell the hoist in Japan. We are also authorized to sell the hoist to a buyer anywhere in the world.
